Profile of the Headmaster

Philip N. Donkor serves as the Headmaster of Yilo Krobo Senior High School in Somanya, Eastern Region, Ghana. He is a highly experienced and certified education professional with advanced academic qualifications in Information Technology and educational leadership. His academic credentials include a Master’s degree in Information Technology from the University of Cape Coast, a Postgraduate Certificate in Information Technology from the University of Ghana, Legon, and a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification. He also holds an M.Phil. in Information Technology from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) as well as a Master’s degree in Internet of Things from Ghana Telecom University College, Accra.

As Headmaster, Mr. Donkor is responsible for the overall administration and management of the school. He oversees key areas such as staff appraisal, financial management, and the effective allocation of resources to ensure the smooth running of the institution. He also ensures the proper implementation of the academic curriculum while handling important student matters including discipline, records management, and student welfare.

In addition, he supervises teaching and learning through classroom observations, teacher conferences, and the provision of professional development opportunities for staff. His leadership focuses on improving instructional quality and enhancing student academic achievement. Mr. Donkor also promotes strong school–community relations by actively engaging with the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) and the School Management Committee (SMC). Through guidance and mentorship, he supports both students and teachers in their academic and personal development, while also coordinating extracurricular activities such as sports and clubs to ensure the holistic development of learners.
