ICT Laboratory

Our ICT Laboratory provides students with the digital tools and practical skills needed to thrive in a technology-driven world.

Overview

At Yilo Krobo Senior High School, our computer laboratories play a vital role in supporting modern teaching and learning. The school is equipped with four fully functional computer laboratories designed to enhance the integration of technology into the academic environment and to develop students’ digital literacy and practical ICT skills.

ICT Upgrade

In February 2025, the MTN Ghana Foundation officially handed over a modern ICT Centre valued at GHS 1.3 million to the school. This facility includes 40 all-in-one desktop computers and two smart boards, significantly strengthening our capacity to deliver effective digital learning and expanding access to modern technology for both students and teachers.

Key Features

  • Modern Equipment
Our computer laboratories are equipped with modern computers, high-speed internet connectivity, projectors, printers, and other essential ICT infrastructure. These systems are regularly maintained to ensure efficient operation during lessons and practical sessions.
  • Curriculum Support
The laboratories support a wide range of academic activities, from basic computer literacy to more advanced areas such as programming, digital research, data analysis, and graphic design. They play an important role in the teaching of ICT and Computer Studies as part of the school’s curriculum.
  • Capacity and Accessibility
Each laboratory is designed to accommodate a full class of students, ensuring that learners have access to individual workstations during practical sessions. The labs are scheduled effectively to provide equal access for students across different classes.
  • Teacher Support and Digital Integration
Our teachers also make use of the laboratories to support interactive teaching, multimedia presentations, and technology-based learning activities. Training sessions are occasionally organized to strengthen teachers’ ability to integrate ICT tools into their teaching methods.
  • Extra-Curricular Activities
Beyond regular lessons, the computer laboratories are used for various technology-based extracurricular activities such as coding clubs, typing practice sessions, robotics exploration, and digital creativity projects. These initiatives help students build confidence and develop essential technological skills for the future.
