Profile of the Assistant Headmaster (Administration)

Joseph Tetteh Portuphy Akor serves as the Assistant Headmaster for Administration at Yilo Krobo Senior High School in Somanya, Eastern Region, Ghana. He holds a B.Ed. in Population and Family Life Education from the University of Cape Coast (1999–2002) and a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Educational Measurement and Evaluation from the University of Cape Coast (2015–2017).

In his role, he manages documentation of staff certificates, promotions, and meeting minutes, and also serves as Secretary to the Board of Governors, receiving visitors in the Headmaster’s absence and stepping in when necessary. He oversees the issuance of student certificates, testimonials, transcripts, recommendation letters, and proficiency documents. Additionally, he handles student admissions, ensures disciplinary issues are properly documented, awards certificates to outgoing SRC members, and collaborates with the other assistant headmasters on SRC council, disciplinary, and chaplaincy matters.

Profile of the Assistant Headmistress

Madam Vera Adjewi holds a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) in Ghanaian Language (Akan) and a Master of Education (M.Ed) in Educational Administration. As the Assistant Headmistress in charge of Domestic affairs, she plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth coordination of student welfare, school services, and campus life.

She supervises and oversees several key areas within the school, including House Staff, the Disciplinary Committee, the Sick Bay and healthcare services, the Kitchen and Dining Hall, and the general maintenance of the School Grounds and Compound. She is also responsible for coordinating student outfits, entertainment, and cultural activities, as well as supervising Sports and the School Cadet Corps.

In addition, Madam Adjewi oversees the operations of the school canteen, teachers’ welfare matters, and student accommodation. Through her leadership, she ensures that both staff and students enjoy a safe, organized, and supportive environment that promotes discipline, comfort, and holistic development.

Profile of the Senior House Master

Mr. Aboagye Bennett Mante is a seasoned educator with over 25 years of experience in teaching and school leadership. As Senior House Master of Yilo Krobo Senior High School, he brings extensive knowledge, strong discipline, and a commitment to holistic student development to the school community.

Originally from Kwahu-Atibie, he began his academic journey at Okuapemman School, Akropong-Akwapim, where he completed his GCE O’ and A’ Levels. Mr. Aboagye holds a Bachelor of Education degree in Art Education from the University of Education, Winneba, a Master’s degree in Educational Studies from the Presbyterian University, Ghana, and currently holds the rank of Deputy Director in the Ghana Education Service.

He is passionate about fostering discipline and creating an environment that encourages students to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Mr. Aboagye believes that education should be a transformative experience, equipping students with the knowledge, skills, and values necessary for success in all areas of life.

In his free time, he enjoys hiking and reading, reflecting his belief in continuous learning and personal growth.

Profile of the Senior House Mistress

Miss Wendy Asiedu is a seasoned educator with 24 years of teaching experience. She completed her secondary education at Benkum Secondary School and holds a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) in French from the University of Education, Winneba. She also earned a Master of Education (M.Ed) in Guidance and Counselling from the University of Cape Coast.

As Senior House Mistress, Miss Asiedu provides strategic leadership in student welfare and discipline. She supervises all House Mistresses, ensures discipline among students across the houses, monitors sanitation and personal hygiene, and regularly visits dormitories. She also works closely with the Assistant Headmistress (Domestic) to maintain internal security and a safe living environment for students.

The houses under her supervision include four student residences: House One, House Two, House Three, and House Four. Through her guidance, students are nurtured in a disciplined, supportive, and organized residential environment that promotes academic and personal growth.
